Finding the right size for you

Most retail outlets offer just the one size and call it ‘one size fits all’. This can be frustrating and put you off trying on hats because it’s a constantly bad experience.  Sadly I hear this all the time and can reassure you heads come in all sizes and a milliner is trained to fit to any size. If you are unable to be measured in person, here’s the how-to tips for doing it yourself.

Place a soft measuring tape around your head about 1.5cm to 2cm above your ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head and let it rest at the widest point of your head at the back. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tight. Now measure your head where the hat will sit comfortably. Milliners can work in centimetres or inches so jot down your size. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size if purchasing from the ready to wear collections.

Measure twice and If in doubt, don’t hesitate to contact me for a in person or online one-on-one consultation.
